It is with bittersweet emotions we write to inform you that we have decided to close the Sea Spray Inn as of September 30, 2016.
After seven wonderful seasons, it is time for us to retire as innkeepers. The decision to close and sell the inn was not easy to make, but after years of fighting with the government (local, state and federal) and insurance companies after Sandy and other issues arose, we realized we could not successfully maintain this small business.
As you may or may not know, the inn has been on the market for several months. If it sells as a B&B we will be sure to let you know and make an introduction for you to the new owners.
If you have a gift certificate that expires
If you have a reservation in October 2016, we will be in contact with you personally to discuss options.
You have become more than guests, and we consider you cherished friends. You have shared your vacations, honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions with us and we couldn’t be more appreciative or proud that you chose to share those special moments with us at the Sea Spray. We thank you for the beautiful experiences and memories we have made together over these past seven seasons.
We trust you will find another lovely place in Ocean Grove to call home for your future
As for us, we are not going far away. Although we don’t know where we are going to settle just yet, we will be someplace within 15 minutes of Ocean Grove. So, we can catch up with you anytime you’re in town.
While we are retiring from innkeeping, we are not retiring from work. Mary Ellen will be going back to work as a management consultant with the Capital Performance Group and Eric will be looking for a work-from-home job.
Thanks again for your patronage, friendship and support over the past several years. You are the reason we were so successful and we can’t thank you enough for the great reviews and kind words.
May you always have happy memories of our time together!
With lots of love and warmest regards,
Mary Ellen & Eric
